“As a sculptor I know that approaching the human head can be daunting. It is a complex form which at the same time is all too familiar to us. We all have a face. Danger lies in believing we know what it looks like.
It is important to have a method when approaching such a complex form and I employ a system created by Brian Taylor at Camberwell School of Art. This method develops a heightened awareness of structure and challenges pre-conceived perceptions about the human figure.”
Classes are held at Ellen’s studio in Deptford. It is a varied and dynamic studio environment with free parking and close to public transport. Ellen also teaches at The Art Academy in London and with The Society of Portrait Sculptors.
Ellen’s private classes are no more than 6 people and are held in a friendly and supportive environment. Each person develops at their own pace and as it is a small group where there is time to give each student what they need. Unlimited tea and coffee on tap and a hearty lunch provided!
