Portrait sculpture masterclasses at my personal studio:
16 – 18 March 2018 (with Hugh modelling)
21 – 23 March 2018 (with Elisa modelling)
As a sculptor I know that approaching the human head can be daunting. It is a complex form which at the same time is all too familiar to us. We all have a face. Danger lies in believing we know what it looks like.
It is important to have a method when approaching such a complex form and I employ a system created by Brian Taylor at Camberwell School of Art. This method develops a heightened awareness of structure and challenges pre-conceived perceptions about the human figure.
Classes are held at my studio in Deptford. It is a varied and dynamic studio environment with free parking and close to public transport.
Classes are no more than 6 people and are held in a friendly and supportive environment. Each person develops at their own pace and as it is a small group I have time to give each student what they need.
The class is suitable for intermediate and advanced sculptors. Materials will be provided.
